I ordered an rtic cooler in may and just got it a couple of weeks ago. It's pretty much identical to a yeti as far as I can tell.

Did you order direct from RTIC? How did long did it take for delivery?

I ordered an Rtic 20 in Mid March and got in 6 weeks later. Put it up against my son's Yeti 20 and virtually no difference. According to a coworker the soft coolers are the ones taking longest to ship. BTW so far the only way to get their coolers is ordering direct.

Thanks! I am going to order a RTIC 45. I hope I am not over doing it. We travel back and forth from Irving to Tyler at least once a month. We carry all our drinks and food. We just don't eat out much anymore. I hate the cheaper chest, but couldn't justify hundreds of dollars.

Yeah I ordered directly from rtic, getting the item shipped kinda rubbed me wrong. In may I saw that they had guaranteed to ship by 6/30 if you ordered immediately, so naturally I did; I was waiting on some kind of promotion and this seemed to be it. About 6/20 I check my order status and it changed to ship july 20th. I called rtic and they said there was some kind of issue with materials and could not make the deadline. Whatever, I was upset but I'm over it haha. I got the 45 and it is a great compromise on size. It's still decently easy for me to carry loaded down with ice and beer (very easy for two people), and big enough to hold a significant amount. Plus you really don't need a whole lot of ice, and what Ice you do have will last a while if you keep the rubber latches latched.

RTIC is currently being sued by Yeti for trademark infringement. I might caution against ordering one until the dust settles. If you check around there are several other makers now making the same type of coolers. Magellan, Ozark Trail, and one from Cabelas I hear. The Coleman Xtreme 5day holds ices nearly as well and is under $30. Ask me how I know. ;-)

Dallashog wrote:I was not willing to pay 40 dollars for a glass either but did break down and buy one from walmart last week. Soon after buying it my son came into town for a visit with his yeti cup and I did the same test. I filled both 30 oz glasses with ice and let them sit for 36 hours. At the end of the test they were both the same temperature and both poured off the same amount of water which was minimal. Really makes you wonder if they are not produced in the same plant.
They are both made in China.

I contacted Yeti a while back and was informed that while all of their coolers are made in the US, ALL of their SS cups are made in China.
I told them that when that changed I might consider buying one. :patriot:

 YETI's lawyers are goung to be busy. There's Engle, Bison/Brute, Yukon, Grisly, Pelican, Orca, Canyon, Siberian, K2, IceHole and several others I can't recall. Igloo should get royalties for every plastic bodied cooler made since they started the trend with their ABS chests. They used to have four 48 qt chests supporting a Jeep Wagoneer to prove their strength; one under each wheel. Of course they were full of ice.

For those those familiar with the Bill Miller chain, they are currently selling a 30 oz. Yeti knockoff called "BOSS" with the Bill Miller's logo on it for $20, with 50 cent refills thereafter.

Looks identical to the 30 oz. Yeti, which by the way, states on the bottom "Designed in Austin, TX Made in China"

They are all made in China, including YETI. YETI just copied the Tervis Tumbler and had them made in stainless steel.

Just bought two 30oz RTIC tumblers directly from RTIC - first use there was still ice floating in the tumbler after 24 hours.

Apparently the YETI uses a different plastic for their lids than does Rtic. First test I've seen using an oven with high temps. I wonder if the Rtic would do as good as the YETI with a YETI lid replacing the one that comes with Rtic cups?
