Re: "Waiting Room"
Hi everyone, I'm brand new to the forum and found it because of this thread. I just wanted to provide my info for everyone else's future reference.
Me, my wife, and my father, mother, and brother-in-law all applied for our LTC at the same time. Below are our time lines:
Me, my wife, and father-in-law:
Class, application, supporting documents sent - 8/06
Fingerprints - 8/09
Everything received awaiting background - 8/11
Print Pending - 8/13
Mailed - 8/18
License in hand - today, 8/19
Brother-in-law:
background and print pending showed up one day later than us respectively, Still print pending as of 8/19
Mother-in-law:
Everything submitted the same day as the rest of us, but no checklist or update has appeared on the site.
Overall 10 business days and 13 total days for me, my wife and father-in-law to receive license in hand. Excited for us but confused on my mother-in-laws progress.

Re: "Waiting Room"
My process seems to be right on with the time frame they give you once you apply. I'm a May 2016 applicant. However you should have been a head of my process of course depending on criteria. I would call and email them.... They might have sent you mail requesting something and as you know our mail delivery system isn't always to be counted on. I've had several letters lost in transit to me. And in their defense if they mailed it... You got it.... So I'd be all over that phone and email. Best of luck to you!!Sims1971 wrote: i did my class in march 2016 everything turned in by march 30 .... may 7th i went into background . In june is when my screen changed to figner prints and background under review. As of AUGUST 16TH 2016..... IM STILL WAITING .....

Re: "Waiting Room"
Ok... so I am new to the forum... found it by searching LTC wait times.... mine has progressed nicely so far.... here is my timeline:
Aug 6- took the proficiency class
August 15- fingerprints at identogo and all supporting documents uploaded to DPS
August 24- everything went green on the site except the last two... awaiting background and print pending
August 25- background complete!
So, I should have plastic in hand sometime next week (judging by others experiences). This has all progressed way faster than I expected....

Re: "Waiting Room"
Applied for LTC on July 24th with wife.
We to the academy and graduated Aug 1994 in MS
Worked as a full time officer there until Sep 2001 and then recalled to active duty after 9/11 to USAF
Got off voluntary extended active duty in Dec 2007 and transferred peace officer license to TX
Recalled again in 2012 and sent to Iraq again.
Now medically retired from USAF and Texas retired peace officer as if 2013. Had license voluntarily suspended while gone so that I wouldn't have to do my required state mandates training hours while deployed.
Now back full time with my normal civilian job at USAA and love it. Wife works here too which is kind of odd sometimes. Lol.

Re: "Waiting Room"
Fairly sure you are wandering why a licensed officer is applying for a LTC. Well, to be honest it is because that way I don't have to get something called a department letter every time I want to buy a weapon. I am on the "rap back" list and don't like explaining every time I buy something to my department (especially since they carry my retired commission). Lol.

Re: "Waiting Room"
Incidentally, in case you didn't know. Each and every one of you are also now on the "rap back" list and also in VI Cap.
In a nut shell, because you've applied for a Texas LTC any time you are arrested or ticketed or anything else where they run either your DL or your LTC through AFIS, NCIC, or TX CIC you are flagged as an LTC holder, applicant, or former holder. Yes. Even former licensees are in there for life!
Basically when a licensee or applicant or former licensee is in contact with a law enforcement agency the record is identified. When you get a ticket obviously nothing happens. When you get arrested however your license is immediately computer identified and sent to the state as a possible suspension or revoke. They DO NOT take any action that is final until you are final convicted and the court of record is verified.
