Is McDonald observatory posted ?

#1

Post by DUST FOOT »

Thinking about taking the grandkids on a west Texas road trip and was wondering if anyone knows if the McDonald observatory is posted since it is part of UT.

I'm striking out on finding a straight forward listing for UTA exclusion zones. However, in
https://utexas.app.box.com/v/cc-implementation-report
on page 8, the McDonald Observatory Visitors Center is specifically listed as a location that >MAY< be posted for certain events.

The last time I visited there were no 30.06 signs at the visitor center but that was a few years ago. I carried during one of the Star Parties which is mostly outdoors anyway.

I was there last month, and I did not see any signs.
