Several things about this event bother me..
One it could be what it appears,,,and that's bothersome...no doubt...

But on the other side.....a family that IS taking this lying down? walking away and letting the child take a GED vice HS Diploma or HomeSchool and a Diploma.. I cant even imagine that personally...but maybe they are not fighters, perhaps a family of introverts that dislike public attention and just want to fade away....
Then you have A school admin that is making very public and easily supported (or proven unsupported comments in a court of law, should it come to that ) They are stating unequivocally if they could release all the info they have, the real issue would be clear and thier actions would be fair and balanced.. 50/50, that is true or its not..but either way after a court order to produce the info it will be shown one or the other..so to make that statement knowing it is a fabrication is hard to understand... Perhaps the admin is banking on no court order...and lying.... or perhaps they are not...

And lastly.. we have seen the video... but the issue came up after the thumb drive was found and turned in..... what if its not the video... but other things on the drive that was cause for concern?/ Neither side is saying that.. neither side is saying there was nothing else on the drive....so what else is on that thumbdrive we have not yet seen?

Since the police looked at it and didn't see a problem, I have serious doubts there.

Unless it is child porn, or classified information, it's not criminal. Even if it is an op plan to blow up the school, mere possession of that is not a crime, unless an act in furtherance of a plan is shown.

It is none of their business.

The cartoons in the video show cartoon guns (the only place firearms appear in the presentation). Is this one of those stupid mindless zero-tolerance fascist school district policies run amok again? And of course, the district can't discuss it because student disciplinary matters are confidential?

This. I could see legal porn still being grounds for suspension, but a teen boy having it would hardly be a matter for a psychiatric evaluation.

What about psychologists? In a few years do I get to drive you crazy too?

I dunno. I can't recall ever dealing with any. I think there were a couple in an office building my investment company owned. I might have said howdy in the hallway to one or the other.

I handled a real estate matter with a couple of psychiatrists, husband and wife, years ago, and they were not normal! To avoid the chance that their young son might be careless around cars and get hit, he was being taught to be deathly afraid of cars. No telling how much psychiatric care he has needed in the last 35 years over that, or what other abnormalities they inflicted on him. Their lawyer was even worse!

As if I needed another reason not to want kids...but hey here's one more in the pile; you could screw them up indefinitely, yey!
