Bumping this because I saw where Ogg was elected Harris County DA. For you Houston folks, what happened? Is Harris just that blue, or was there some particular issue going on? Did the current DA's mishandling of the PP case discussed above have anything to do with it?

Here's the statute I presume they are charged under:
Sec. 48.02. PROHIBITION OF THE PURCHASE AND SALE OF HUMAN ORGANS. (a) "Human organ" means the human kidney, liver, heart, lung, pancreas, eye, bone, skin, fetal tissue, or any other human organ or tissue, but does not include hair or blood, blood components (including plasma), blood derivatives, or blood reagents.

(b) A person commits an offense if he or she knowingly or intentionally offers to buy, offers to sell, acquires, receives, sells, or otherwise transfers any human organ for valuable consideration.

(c) It is an exception to the application of this section that the valuable consideration is: (1) a fee paid to a physician or to other medical personnel for services rendered in the usual course of medical practice or a fee paid for hospital or other clinical services; (2) reimbursement of legal or medical expenses incurred for the benefit of the ultimate receiver of the organ; or (3) reimbursement of expenses of travel, housing, and lost wages incurred by the donor of a human organ in connection with the donation of the organ.

(d) A violation of this section is a Class A misdemeanor.
To see whether the video makers actually offered to buy organs or merely explored the possibility would require reviewing the videos. Even if they did make an offer, it's clear it was not a bona fide offer, and the prosecutor should use discretion not to charge. But in this case, the prosecutor wants to prevent exposes affecting Planned Parenthood. So she charged away.

I only saw one commercial with Devon Anderson explaining the jailed rape victim case. But I do remember seeing many commercials from Ogg. Anderson was clearly outspent. I dont live in Houston so couldnt vote either.
Just some guy's opinion.

Harris County lost a very good DA, and replaced her with a sham.

Kim Ogg hasn't prosecuted a case before a jury in 20 years. She's in the office because she is blatantly liberal and had leftist money backing her.

We also lost a solid, honest, and capable Sheriff. Sheriff Hickman is a man I know and for whom I hold the utmost respect.

That he will no longer be Harris County Sheriff is a travesty.

Donald Trump helped us take back the White House. Now we need to take back Texas's metropolitan areas.

We know Houston has always been leftist. But we thought Harris county was conservative as a whole. Is this switch to the darkside part of a permanent trend?

I saw Texas' voting results by county yesterday.

Harris, Travis, Dallas, and Bexar county all went Democrat.

Soros money allowed Kim Ogg to plaster TV adds constantly about a rape victim who was put in jail to prevent her from leaving town, so she could testify at the trial of the man she accused of raping her. Unfortunately the jailers thought that she was the rapist and so consequently she was not well treated during her time in jail.

The charging of the wrong people in the Planned Parenthood case did not come up as apparently both sides like abortion.

We are waiting to see, but it appears that the majority of Harris County may be Democrat. It was pretty much a Democrat sweep for countywide elections. I still need to check the judicial races.

I was really surprised the existing Harris County Sheriff was replaced by a Democrat, it seemed the Republican ran a good campaign and unlike the DA race the campaign seemed to be favoring the Republican.

Aren't ALL the big cities in Texas and immediately surrounding them democrat/leftist?

Plus, of course the welfare counties next to or close to the border?

The give me stuff crowd and prius driving self-righteous love socialism.

The first group wants unearned everything and the second "feeeeeeeeels" their pain...and their hearts bleed.

(yeah, I know for the most part, I'm preaching to the choir...but, it feeeeeeeels so good to give em heck)

Cities yes, but not the counties in which they are located. Obviously, that doesn't apply to Travis County where Rosemary-The-Drunk is still DA.
