Shoot Smart - Grand Prairie
My wife and I went to the range today. She was not feeling well so she set in a chair behind me. There were three young people in the lane to my left (I usually use their suites because of this, but they were all busy) and obviously they were new shooters from the conversations.
I was shooting and my wife stepped up and told me they were pointing their handgun all over the place. I stopped and sure enough here came the muzzle pointed directly at me.
Trying to be kind (which didn't work) I told them that they should always keep the muzzle pointed at the target down range. I told them there are a lot of accidents at the ranges. Well that went in one ear and out the other.
I stepped out and told the staff (which by the way are always first class) and the young lady came in and watched them for about 30 seconds and she seen the same actions. That little lady sounded like a drill sergeant. She told them the same thing I had told them, but not near as nice.
I went ahead and ended my shooting. At checkout they would not let me pay. They were very apologetic. Like I said they are a first class group of folks.

Did the other customers reform their triflin' ways?

Glad everything worked out, including the comp for the lane. There are several ranges I won't darken their doorways for this very reason, especially when no action is taken by the RSO.

The employee stayed with them and it appeared they were doing okay, but when she left so did I. I like their private lanes because there is a concrete wall between each shooter, but today they were backed up by 2 1/2 hours and I was just testing out a pistol so I was glad to leave early. The Annoyed Man wrote:Did the other customers reform their triflin' ways?

HAd a like issue in the one in North ft worth. Private lanes and the group next to us was shooting at everything but the target. I sent my wife to a safe location and had a talk with the ro. They were removed from the area.

I'm glad to hear they handled it well. That's my usual range. I've been going there since before Shoot Smart bought them out. I've always had good experiences with the staff, and I was worried you had had a bad experience. Glad to hear that was not the case and that nobody was hurt.

They are great folks and they give LEO's and Ex LEO's a discount. It helps my wallet so I can go more often.LucasMcCain wrote:I'm glad to hear they handled it well. That's my usual range. I like going to SS Grand Prairie as well. Good to hear that the staff took care of the problem.

Buddy of mine used to be involved with that range before Shoot Smart bought them out. Can't remember if he was a part owner of it or what but I've always like going there because it's clean range and not to far of a drive for me. Wish they would bring back Happy Hour. I used to love swinging by there during lunch to do some cheap shooting
Re: Shoot Smart - Grand Prairie
The OP leads me to believe there was no RO present in the shooting area, is that correct?
