I'm in the process of becoming a citizen. I was wondering if I should hold off on getting my CHL. Will I have to "update it" when I do become a citizen? Will it also be easier for me to get it because I am a citizen?
Thanks in advance to whatever help and advice y'all can give.
Should I wait?

I can't think of any reason to hold off, Only advice I have is to go for it, but don't use your CHL as an ID to the state department. I once attempted to use a firearms ID card to apply for a passport. I got less than satisfactory results

I'm assuming your resident status allows you to get a CHL now (like youre permanant resident alien or whatever it's called)Buhay_XD wrote:I'm in the process of becoming a citizen. send an email to these guys and let them know what you are looking for.
Paul was able to do a weekday renewal class for me when I contacted him. You might have to wait a few weeks until they locate enough others needing a weekday class.
Both of the instructors are activite on this board.
