Carry Belts
I've spent the money on a couple of nice holster, which completely changed the comfortability game as far as carrying. Now I want to buy a carry belt that will really hold my gun/mag carrier even more comfortably. To start off I really don't care for the "tacticool" style nylon belts that most are using, I just don't really like the seatbelt look. That said I came across some belts from https://www.yourtack.com/Concealed-carr ... belts.html that look a little more my style. Does anyone use these? If not I'll probably just go with one of the regular leather carry belts from somewhere else.

Re: Carry Belts
I've heard good things about Beltman on here, but I've not tried them myself. I bought a Comp-Tac when the time came for me to buy a gun belt, and it was also a great experience (plus, they're local here in the Houston area).

I bought a Comptac, Kydex reinforced (about 9 years ago) loved it, still wear it
I bought another Comptac Kydex reinforcedwhen they had a sale, loved it, still wear it for church
I bought a Desantis Econobelt, no reinforcement, it's ok for doing yard work. not as supportive
I bought 2 styles Steel reinforced BigFoot Belts, 14 Oz, and 20 oz, (same steel reinforced belt as Alien/Allen Wear belt, possibly same as Hanks Steel Reinforced onres too) ) about $60-=80 each one is the standard, one is the super thick like the Beltman belts. They're hanging over saw kitchen chair right now, neither is as supportive or as stiff as my Comptac kydex reinforced belts (I got both with Velcro plus reinforcer.
http://www.comp-tac.com/gun-belts/
I got Comptac Kydex Reinforced plus Velcro on the two belts I wear pretty much daily for the lasts 9 years or so, That's what I'd recommend over steel reinforced or super thick double layer leather even with steel inserts. I did leatherwork in the 1960s, my dad made boots, saddles etc in Lubbock in the 1940s with some famous bootmakers, and I was impressed with Comptac quality, Texas made too.
Yes, the comptac cost about twice as much as the steel reinforced Bigfoot belt, they both "look" nice, but Comptac is just better, stiffer, more supportive and though I only had the Bigfoot belts a year or so, I'm thinking Comptac would last longer too. I polished mine maybe twice in 9 years, still look good, except a spot where I got white paint on one while housepainting once.
Be sure, whatever brand you buy, you read and follow their size guidelines, everyone is different how they measure, like for one brand I need a 40 to middle hole, another brand I needed a 44 to middle hole

I have a couple of gun belts from Hanks that are well made in the USA and look great too. https://www.hanksbelts.com/jb2012 wrote:I've spent the money on a couple of nice holster, which completely changed the comfortability game as far as carrying. The left lies about everything. Truth is a liberal value, and truth is a conservative value, but it has never been a left-wing value. People on the left say whatever advances their immediate agenda. Power is their moral lodestar; therefore, truth is always subservient to it. - Dennis Prager

AG Custom Leather for me. I wear it everyday, even at work where I can't carry. I would never go back to a normal belt even without carrying.

Re: Carry Belts
I can personally attest to the quality and longevity of CompTac kydex reinforced and AG Gunleather belts. I prefer AG unless CompTac has begun shipping belts with squared off buckles. The rounded buckles tend to bite into the edges of the leather as you put on / take off the belts more than the squared ones do.

Re: Carry Belts
My go-to anymore is Armour Belts. Mike is a true craftsman and super responsive with questions/issues. A piece of advice, if you want to get a thin belt that will still support the heaviest rig/EDC, opt for one of his dress belts in 1.5" with the internal stiffener. I have Beltman belts, Comp-tac, Wilderness belts, and now Armour Belts. I won't buy a gun belt anywhere else these days.

Re: Carry Belts
I've got a Magpul Tejas gun belt which has been in service for close to two years, and I'd buy another one. I recently got a black and a khaki 5.11 1.5" Trainer belt which I am also very happy with.

Same here... Nothing against Beltman, I am a former 3x customer of his. A&G is just a superior belt at a similar price.jason812 wrote:AG Custom Leather for me. I wear it everyday, even at work where I can't carry. I would never go back to a normal belt even without carrying.

Re: Carry Belts
I recently bought a Bigfoot gunbelt. The .270-ish thick, steel reinforced model in brown. It's a beautiful belt and keeps everything I have in place. Spare mag, Gerber multi-tool, and either my g19 or full sized Springfield 1911. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another or recommend to anyone else looking for a gunbelt.
Re: Carry Belts
I'll vote for AG Custom leather as well. Have a horsehide belt from there. Works great.flechero wrote:Same here... Nothing against Beltman, I am a former 3x customer of his. Re: Carry Belts
Have a brown Beltman for wearing with jeans, have a black one for Sunday best.
I am a firm believer in having a really good belt, otherwise you may be disappointed with any holster on a poor belt.
