Any Baytown Folk Here?
As concerned citizens of Baytown (and the surrounding areas), a large number of people have banded together to come up with solutions to help the local PD and City government combat crime in our area and take control of our streets back.
I welcome anyone from this area or even if you are just curious to join us at http://www.hotpursuit.cc" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Feel free to browse and input is welcomed and encouraged.
Thanks!

I have quite a bit of family that still lives there. I was born there in 1971 at San Jacinto hospital. My parents were raised there and went to Lee HS. It seems that the town has gone from a bunch of very hardworking folks who were trying to escape the depression in the 1930s, and who came to the refineries to find work, to something that is less than honorable now.
When I drive there now to visit my last remaining grandmother, the old neighborhoods don't look good at all. It seems like most of the city has tilted towards seedy trouble makers. It used to be a really nice place where everyone worked hard for their keep, took pride in their lives and kept the community decent.
My family's names who I'm related to or descended from are Phillips, Jackson, Liles, Carleton and Garbs. I hate to see my grandparents' generation who still live there have to endure such social conditions in the town that they worked really hard to make a decent place. They were part of the greatest generation and they don't see much of their values imparted to their town now.

I Work in Baytown. Place has changed a lot over the years. Good thing they have so many oil and chemical plants. They sure do employ a bunch of cops.

Greetings--
We're moving to Baytown in a couple of weeks. We both have positions in the Med Center. We decided to move to Baytown 'cause her kid-os are there.
I'm gonna miss the 10 min drive to the range in Longview-- waaaaaa. I guess we'll join the PSC club-- OK Baytown folks-- carpooling !!
Mabye some of the ladies can get my ms to get out and shoot-- she gets tired of shooting with the guys all the time.
Good to see a number of folks here are from Baytown-- we'll have to start a once-in-a while dinner gathering at Roosters.
BTW-- Anyone suggest a good painter there ? We want to paint the inside of our new house before we move in. Drop us an PM.

Born and raised in Baytown. Sterling class of 1979. Then left for A&M. Half of the family still lives in town .
My partner and I operated the CHL classes (TCWA and handgunclasses.com) and indoor range in the old Citizens bank building for 12 years before the building was condemned in May of this year( no, we don't own it ! : ))) I still get back tax notices for a building I do not own !! ).
I'm still through town once a week.
My observations are that crime is about the same as when Shafer left. Old Baytown, Pelly, and old goose creek have not changed much. I think the crime (mostly petty stuff) has just spread out more to the rest of town. You folks have aparently gotten Byron's atttention though!
Under the old zero tolerance program, there wasn't as much vandalism.
About 3-4 years ago we started getting more and more break-in attempts along Texas Ave. I think my partner David filed 27 BPD reports in a 3 year period.
A lot of the problem is all the kids running wild in the middle of the night. Mamasita is worn out from taking care of all the kids and papa is drunk or hung-over and so the kids bolt and practice their future craft and start spraying graffiti.
I 've heard the violent crime is attributed to the recent population surge and not enough BPD folks on patrol. It's probably a fantasy but it would be nice to have 2-3 more units rolling per shift. But's that's a lot of money. And you know Baytown......
