I was 10 years old sitting in school when the principal came in the room and announced President Kennedy had been killed. Everyone in the room got sick of there stomach including me. I remember watching the funeral on black and white tv.

I was only 2, but I can remember exactly what I was doing on that date in 1980 and 1993. Got married and legally divorced both on that exact day. The past 23 of those have been so much better with the women that I am now married to. And this one lets me buy guns and likes to shoot them too.

I was a senior in HS, at lunch in the cafeteria. The principal came on the loud speaker and announced it. It hit us especially hard, as we were in Fort Worth, and JFK had just spoken at a luncheon downtown, then driven to Dallas.

A visit by the President was a big deal back then, and everyone was very aware that he was in town. At that time, there was enormous animosity between Fort Worth (Democrat) and Dallas (Republican), and this crime opened raw wounds that took decades to heal.

home early.

At work for PanAm deep inside the No.3 Main fuel tank on a Boeing 707-121 repairing a cracked wing spar. Left some skin there getting out to listen to the news reports.

In 6th grade in a little tiny town west of Amarillo on Route 66/I-40. We were outside for recess when a local farmer drove up in his pickup truck and told the Principal that JFK had been shot. Someone brought in a B&W TV set with rabbit ears, and we all went to the auditorium to watch the news. Once it was verified that he was dead, there was lots of crying in the auditorium A friend of mine in the 5th grade and I both were in Boy Scouts, and we raised and lowered the flag every day. So the Principal sent us out to lower the flag to half staff.

I was the same age. Lived in South Central Kansas and was home finishing up my lunch when the network interrupted the noontime shows for a special announcement. It was that The President had been shot in Dallas, TX.
Went back to school and the vice principal came in and told our teacher that The President was dead. I too was glued to the B&W TV for days afterwards. Was a terrible day that I will always remember.
These days when the network in interrupted I break out in a cold sweat and get goose pimples on my arms. I guess you could call it PTSD.
