If you get Netflix watch Narcos:Mexico. One of their location scouts was murdered...
"He was reportedly found riddled with bullets in his car in a remote area near Hidalgo, which is known to have one of the highest murder rates in Mexico."
The series is very good. I would no longer go to Mexico though, ever.

Wow. Mexico is a mess. Some of the comments with that story makes one think.
Edit: I just spent the last hour researching Murders in Mexico. Good Night NUrse! It is actually crazy the stuff I find. Why anyone would go anywhere in Mexico right now just escapes me.

And it has the world’s most stringent gun laws. BTW only one gun store in Mexico. It’s on a military base.03Lightningrocks wrote: ↑Sat Dec 01, 2018 5:46 am Wow. Mexico is a mess. Some of the comments with that story makes one think.

Sad it was a place we all wanted to go in the 1980s.

Re: Vacationing in gun free Mexico
It was already a mess at that time, just for different reasons. I spent a lot of my youth throughout the country as a missionary kid.
No way I'd go back by choice now. Last time I was there was around 2008 on a cruise, we stopped at Cozumel and I didn't even bother getting off the boat I was so tired of it

Willful ignorance of documented danger coupled w/ "won't happen to me" attitude has filled many an empty grave.03Lightningrocks wrote: ↑Sat Dec 01, 2018 5:46 am Wow. Mexico is a mess. Some of the comments with that story makes one think.
