Allegedly he spoke to at least one neighbor, possibly more. The video is still factually more accurate than the initial reports by mainstream media, and this is one of the first guys to call bull on the initial reports.

I went back and watched the HPD "animation" on a different link. Now the NNH video makes more sense.
