Very accurate and easy to shoot for a short barreled handgun. Nice trigger, comes with inserts to adjust the grip. Easy to find good holsters for concealed carry.Liberty wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2019 8:36 pm I carry a Beretta Storm Subcompact. Subcompact is a bit of a misnomer, it has a 13 round capacity and is considerably bigger than most pocket guns. Rounded where it counts. Comes with a floppy thing on one of the mags to provide a placard for your pinky.. Good shooter and comfortable to shoot.

Re: Best compact 1911? Or favorite DA/SA carry
Did a fair amount of research a few years ago and decided I wanted a SIG P229. I went to the LGS but decided to check out the used offerings before I pluncked down my money for a new one. Walked away with a SIG PRO SP2022 for about 1/3 the cost of a new P229 and have never regretted that purchase. In summer I typically carry a Kel-Tec P11 because it's smaller, but the SP2022 is my favorite.

Y’all have some nice compact 1911s. And I’ve never shot a Colt Defender but am now curious to try one.
Anyway, it’s not a compact 1911, but I sometimes carry a single stack S&W 3913 (9mm) that’s a DA/SA. I got it used a few years ago for less than $400. I like it a lot, but there aren’t as many holster options available for it compared to the more popular Sigs and compact 1911s. Not mine, but here’s a link to a picture of one:

And this one is the more coveted (and more expensive) “Lady Smith” 3913 model:
