Miniature Lathe?

#1

Post by crazy2medic »

In my youth 1979-80, I had a small metal lathe, I believe it was made by Unimat, best of my recollection it was around $300 to 400 dollars, does this ring a bell with any hobbyist or machinist?

Harbor Freight (?) used to sell them and I still have mine from 1997. Ran well and was good enough to hold zero for most small items.
If I was a bit younger I'd keep it but I'll probably see what I can swap it for.

I used to have a Unimat a long time ago.
For buying one, the only thing I can suggest is eBay.
It was good enough to make a bullet.
I found the lathe setup pretty good, but never had much success with the mill or drill press set-ups.
