I have the smaller one - the 1000 Deluxe. It is bolted down in my truck. I love it.

I think they work great...

Till the power goes out and the batteries die...

Then you gotta go find that key...Where did I put that thing!

;-)

For the most part, all kidding aside, I believe they work just fine...They'll keep stuff secure and easy to retrieve if need be...

Just remember to change out the batteries about the same frequency as your smoke detectors...Good rule of thumb...

I've got the 1000 bolted under the seat in my van. Works great.

That thread is about a different product, (and a different type of product) however.

I just bought the standard small model -- works great. It sits on my night stand and I can enter my unlock code in about two seconds, and then the door flips down automatically.

I'm trying to find the security cable for it so I can lock it down against theft.

Yes, I got one a few months ago - I researched all brands of these types of gun safes - and the gun vault seemed to be the best - I have the Gunvault deluxe - but the smaller of the 2 sizes. Like it a lot.

I have a GV1000 in my truck, and have been looking at getting another one of them, or possibly a GV2000 to keep next to the bed.
