Re: Sporting clays
I’ve been wanting to give sporting clays a try. I love skeet, but traps seems boring to me. Sporting clays looks like a LOT of fun though. Andy, let me know the next time you decide to go if you want someone to tag along.
Oh, and congratulations!

Re: Sporting clays
Depends on how far I'd have to walk. I can still get around most of the time....I'm just slow. I'd like to give that Benelli another shot at breaking in so that it feeds reliably with regular 2-3/4" shells. It weighs a lot less than my O/U and would be easier to cart around; plus it recoils softer.AndyC wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2019 12:59 pm Thanks all :)
It seems I have been quite remiss in your shotgunning education... it's a lot more fun than skeet. Get 5 boxes of shells together and we'll go sometime; we'll probably need to rent a cart if you have trouble walking. The Annoyed Man wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2019 10:57 am I’ve been wanting to give sporting clays a try. Tam go for the cart, it is a lot easier on us old folks. I suspect Andy will take you to Elm Fork and you definitely will want a cart there. Sporting clays is addictive once you try it you get hooked. Good luck when you go.The Annoyed Man wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2019 10:57 am I’ve been wanting to give sporting clays a try. Re: Sporting clays
What are Sporting Clays? Is it a cross between golf and skeet?

Re: Sporting clays
I shot close to 30 yrs of competitive shotgun sports mostly registered shoots, skeet, Trap and sporting clays, by far Trap is and was my #1 favorite, at the world shoot in Ohio 3 yrs with over a mile of trap fields in a row it was a sight from 1 end you could not see the other end. I will never forget squad 4007
times 5 shooters on them was quite a crowd. Also it was the best gunshow I ever attended! Deemed the largest sporting event in the world for total days/people the Boston Marathon had more daily but not total.
At my peak I was shooting 500 targets a week practice and reg shoots.
If anyone needs any 12 ga hulls pm me I have several lifetimes worth just come get them. Estimated 50000 maybe more.
