I voted Tuesday. I was surprised too. When I was talking to a friend about the # on the ballot. I think there were 7. He asked, "with so many to choose from, did I guessed right."crazy2medic wrote: ↑Tue Feb 18, 2020 7:52 pm I went and Early voted today, I was surprised by the number of people running for president on the Republican ticket!

Re: Early Voting
Remember however, the top of the ticket is not in serious contention on the R side. Trump WILL be the nominee. The Democrats have a hotly contested presidential primary. For example 300,000 Democrats voted in last week's New Hampshire primary, but SO did 130,000 Republicans in a race that is uncontested...And that by the way was MUCH larger than Obama in 2012 and Bush in 2004, when they were unopposed in the primary.03Lightningrocks wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2020 8:24 am Apathy is exactly how Virginia was taken over by anti gun socialists. Democrats are trying to decide which one of their idiots are going to get beat by Trump the least!

Re: Early Voting
This is a good point. I admit to being absolutely concerned about the Dems cheating the elections this year. They already have it set up so illegal aliens will be able to vote in several states.ScottDLS wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2020 2:41 pmRemember however, the top of the ticket is not in serious contention on the R side. Re: Early Voting
I showed up to vote at 8:00AM, when the polls opened. The line was snaking around the parking lot. This is Friendswood, a predominately R community. I hope this reflects voter enthusiasm.

Re: Early Voting
My wife and I voted yesterday in Galveston. There was no line. There were a few empty machines. People were processed quickly and efficiently. People were constantly streaming in and out. Mayes Middleton, our rep was outside. I reminded him that to us the selection of the speaker was critical to real republicans and that the last two were a disaster. He told me there is a move to allow only Republicans to select the next leader.

Well take them up on their generosity and vote Trump absentee!strogg wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2020 9:18 am That reminds me of a letter I got a few weeks ago. Kalifornistan still thinks I'm perfectly capable of voting there. They know I moved, but they kept me on the voter registration. To unregister, I have to fill out the back of their postcard with all of my personally identifiable information and return it. Or I can just wait until I miss so many elections (3 years isn't enough?) before I get removed. I wouldn't be surprised if I continue getting letters from them for years to come.

Re: Early Voting
I went yesterday and the line was way too long to stand in the heat in the parking lot. The mistake of going after lunch. I'm going again this morning and it will be quite nice even if there is another long line. And the same poll in Friendswood. I hope this is a good omen for the silent majority really being major this year.

Re: Early Voting
I voted this afternoon. However, i had to go through off the wall paper work because they said i was sent a mail in ballot and i showed up in person instead. I told them i didnt ask for a ballot to me mailed to me. I want to vote in person. So it took about an extra 15 mins. for me to get to the booth. I'm not taking any chances with voter fraud.

Re: Early Voting
That is actually concerning. If you did not ask for one but they sent it to you anyway, who did get your ballot and how many other unsolicited ballots have been sent out?Take Down Sicko wrote: ↑Fri Oct 16, 2020 7:14 pm I voted this afternoon. I believe Harris County tried to send them out to everyone before they were stopped legally. Not sure if the injunction happened before they sent some out or not.03Lightningrocks wrote: ↑Fri Oct 16, 2020 7:19 pmThat is actually concerning. Re: Early Voting
I forgot to mention they also had drive through voting tents in the parking lot.
Re: Early Voting
I'm off early on Friday's. (1500) When I got home, the significant other "suggested" we go vote, as this will likely be a time when we won't have to wait on other voters. After a LOT of consternation about where our voter registration cards were, (We eventually found them.) we got in the pickup and headed to the Bi-State Justice Building, where we have always early voted.
Uhh ..... It ain't there anymore. There is a sign on the door.
Now we have to drive across town to another sight. (Signs posted on the door.) >SIGH!<
OK, we drive cross town and see a parking lot FULL of vehicles. I figure it will be hours.
I must admit, they were efficient and moved us through pretty quickly. We were there less than a half-an-hour.
If I had any doubts about voting, Slow Joe was on the telly blathering about how he would "turn around Donald Trump's failing economy."
I damn near ran some people over trying to get to the polls after that.
Done my part for America, as did the missus. Praying for the best.
