These fine Texas folks have joined Barrett, and are now boycotting California.

This is good......

Now hopefully it will gain attention from the other Manufacturers that also have the ability/guts to follow through.

Then it would be even better if all parts folks do the same.....Wilson, Wolf, Brown, even Midway USA!

Then if the ammo makers would join in, Kalifornia may reconsider their entire stance on the 2nd Amendment of the UNITED STATES!

As authorized STI dealers, we at Shiloh Indoor Range are very pleased with the decision of those great guys in Georgetown, Tx. We look forward to doing more business with a company with values like theirs!

I might have to make my next 1911 an STI. They are only about 20 minutes from my house... if only they had a "factory outlet".

My thoughts exactly.

I think they are quality arms too.

+1 STI just made a new 1911 a priority over a new sig 556

STI hasn't sold guns in California for years. I know this for a fact; none of their models are on California's "Approved Guns" list; so they cannot legally be sold by dealers there anyway.

This is just a PR ploy.

But a very good one.

you'd be wrong in that... as I have a friend who owns an STI product in CA... and if you check thehttp://caag.state.ca.us/firearms/forms/pdf/removed.pdf "recently removed list" you'll see STI/tripp research products on there.

Hmmm... I don't read that as a principled stand (like Barrett and STI refusing to sell in the state), so much as a letter to distributors and dealers informing them that NAA has been effectively banned in California.

NAA was perfectly willing to sell there until they were dropped from the "approved" list. As a manufacturer, they have an obligation to inform their distributors and dealers that certain NAA products can no longer be sold in California. If they were jerks, they could just wipe their hands of anything that has already left the factory, but they seem to be trying to do the right thing by accepting returns.

Of course, the NAA letters are all dated 2005...

They should spin it better then.

Oh, never got a response from STI and that support email I sent. I would still like that factory tour though...

Check Dawson Precision's Website - - - They have some excellent prices on STI products. I bought my Spartan from them.
