According to ATF, I can ship firearms to myself, even across State lines.

However, it seems UPS, FedEx, etc. have more restrictive rules. Can anyone suggest a shipping company that will allow me to ship firearms to myself as allowed by law?

I was originally planning to send them with my furniture and other household goods, but moving companies seem even more hoplophobic than shipping companies.

I'm taking my handguns with me in the car, but my rifles are longer than the width of my car's trunk, even uncased.

When we moved, a couple of times, when the actual movers (not the company, but the guys in the truck) arrived to pack things up, they told me that they would be glad to take the guns too, even though I had arranged to pack them along.

Fedex will ship firearms. I recently had to send my pistol back to the manufacturer for warranty work. The ladies at the shipping place confirmed that the pistol was unloaded and no ammo in the clip. They said they would ship to anyone that has a FFL or you can ship it to yourself, but a positive photo is was required before the package would be released.

UPS allows you to ship to yourself:

Felony where? He is allowed to ship them to himself.

You must declare to the carrier that you are shipping a firearm, per federal law. Disassembling it and calling it "machine parts" is illegal. If you ship just a stripped down frame, it's still a "firearm" by law and must be declared.

No. Not unless you're an FFL.

U.S.P.S. will accept handguns only from licensed dealers.

Before 1969 you could mail-order a pistol. I don't think it's legal to ship one directly to a customer now unless it's a repair being returned to the person who sent it in.

While I'm replying to this thread, the OP is shipping multiple rifles. FedEx and UPS would probably change hundreds of dollars for that.
