Day 365 of my 90 day eform4
3/9/22: Submitted an eform 4 for a Rugged Obsidian 45.
10/22/22: Disapproved after a 227 day wait.
Paperwork wrong? Fingerprints Illegible? Background check pull up something suspicious? Nope. The wrong PDF was attached to the submission by the dealer (I filed for two cans on the same day, a Rugged Micro30 and the Obsidian 45. Micro30 paperwork got attached to the Obsidian application).
You'd think that would be no big deal. Easy enough to correct: send in the right PDF, background check is already done, easy peasy....nope. No way to edit a submission. Money refunded, go back to the back of the line and try again.
10/27/22: Resubmitted an eform4 for the same Rugged Obsidian 45.
3/9/23: 365 days from initial submittal. If current wait times hold, I will finally receive the item I bought last year sometime in July or August of this year after ~500 days.
500 days to buy a muffler that can be bought over the counter in multiple other countries to damage my ears slightly less. 500 days to wait to take possession of an item I've already paid for....over a paperwork error. Not to mention how insane it is to have to run a background check AGAIN after I already cleared one for this item, plus have passed a previous security clearance screening, had a CHL for over a decade, already own multiple SBRs and other suppressors, all of which required background checks....
Our gun laws are absurdly stupid.

Along the same lines but different.
I mailed my FFL-03 (Curio and Relic) application in 2/4/23. Received the approved license in my mailbox 3/4/23. Exactly 30 days which included mail both ways. I can buy and have delivered to my home AK-47’s, SKS, on and on, but a simple suppressor can take over a year. CRAZY.

Just remember, what's a clear and present danger isn't gangs, drug cartels, criminals, and crazy people. It's suppressors and pistol braces.

Re: Day 365 of my 90 day eform4
I have two certified 4/26 that are still pending, and an eform 1 submitted 1/5 that is still pending. I've had eform 1's take as long as 240 days before... I had a form 4 take like 460 days. I have most anything NFA I care for at this point, but I'm sooo done with this. I get on the NFA subreddit pretty often, and they have threads dedicated to approvals. People in June are getting their form 4's back, and people in February are seeing form 1's. Not sure why mine ALWAYS take longer than everyone else. My record is pretty squeaky clean, I've never been barred from owning firearms in any way, I pass background checks with no problem.

I have an Obsidian 45. You’re gonna love it.

Ruggeds modular cans are neat. One that did clear in the 230ish day window was a Micro30. Like it a lot.
