I was not saying that this forum is a learning ground for criminals how to obtain polymer knives. The original post was about how someone can legally protect himself, not how to smuggle weapons onto an airplane.

This thread was originally about how someone can legally protect himself in communist NEW JERSEY!! I agree, and thats my point. it progressed to a point about polymer knives and getting them through metal detectors. This should be moderated and taken back to the original subject

Second, by providing such information, you are possibly setting yourself and the owners of this forum up for legal trouble.

I understand what you are saying but they get more good info from movies and tv (books for the ones who can read) than anywhere else. I have several immediate family in LE and they acknowledge that while CSI and such is hollywood fantasy they still have given criminals way too many good ideas while also covering their tracks better.
I dont see how you could possibly get in any legal trouble for anything posted on a web site, 1st amendment and all.

Transporting a firearm by airplane should not be a problem. I would break it down though. Obviously you will not be able to do it as a carry on, but checked luggage should be no problem.

Why bother breaking it down? Just follow TSA's requirements and also check with your airline to be sure they don't have any special rules. I've checked my carry weapon whilst flying and it was no problem at all. Just be sure to check with the state you are going to about any special rules governing concealed carry inside unsecured areas of airports. In Texas it's not a problem, but in other states it can be, and the only signs are outside the airport usally, so you need to check ahead of time if you are thinking of holstering up in the rest room on your way out (as I prefer to do if allowed).
