Should she call or email?

#1

Post by LM23 »

My wife took her class on 9-30, mailed packet on 10-2. Return reciept back on about the 5th or so. Her record is clean except for an accounting error in 1997 which led to a bad check. She was cleared and included such with her application.

She got her PIN on 11-30, as of today - 12-12, still shows processing application.

By my count that puts her at about day 70... and it is certainly time for a contact. But with the PIN timeframe, I would bet that it isn't ready yet.

FWIW: I always had better luck with a phone call.

i had a similar time frame.

took class on 9-29
mailed packet 10-1

except that i got my PIN via USPS on 10-27. You are looking at almost 60 days just to get a PIN? Something sounds odd.

I would call, just ask to check the status of the application and they will give you the latest info they have.

BTW, i got my plastiv on 12-5

Give 'em a call.

A buddy of mine was well past 60 days, and was told by someone that they had 30 days to enter the app, then 60 to process it. I told him to call, and they issued his license and it's in the mail as we speak.

They are pretty friendly up there.

I had to call once. Was really nice to the person on the phone. My plastic was in my mailbox 47 days after they received it in Austin.

Remember to smile while you're on the phone as it somehow translates to the far end!

She was told that because of the bad check in 1997, even thought the disposition is shown as cleared, she will have to go to Collin County district court clerk and have felony search done from then untill present and get a letter from the clerk stating that all is clear and there have been no other problems.
