If you are located in the Houston area and are free this Saturday AM. PSC is having their monthly Ladies Pistol Class. It starts at 9 AM (sign-in at 8:30) and runs until noon. The cost is $10 for PSC members and $15 for non-members.

We meet rain or shine. We shoot if it is not raining and we have mini-seminars if it is raining. This month we will doing moving targets.

Hi there! I am 33yrs old, a wife, mother of two girls, and a new baby boy. We live in Fort Worth. We currently own a, 22 sig mosquito, 40 Taurus, a couple of old rifles, and our most recent purchase is a Rock Island Armory 1911, which my hubby is trying to steal for himself . I do not have my CHL yet. I guess my "Working toward one" would be in the....still thinking category. I want one, but I am just not sure if I am responsible enough yet because I forget things....eg....my purse, and "oh, where did I put my keys?". And lastly, I go to the local shooting ranges my hubby takes me to.

This is a little ironic. We just bought a Rock Island 1911 on Monday. I thought it would be mine, but my wife has laid claim to it. Guess I'll have to buy a 1911 of my own, eventually.

That's funny! Yeah, we are probably going to have to buy two of each kind, this way there will be no fighting.....but considering we don't fight, it's a good excuse to buy two of each kind!

My husband and I get two of everything. It's fun and very useful shooting the same platform at matches.

Since a gun is a tool, and I always keep at least 2 of each tool in case of a failure. HMMMM I wonder if this excuse will work?

Get the license anyway. It doesn't mean you have to carry a pistol. It just means if you decide to, it's legal. If you keep a loaded gun in the car, it simplifies things. It will also give you an edge in traffic stops as most LEO's will consider you a responsible citizen. I know my warnings to ticket ratio has gone up considerably since I've had a CHL.

As far as forgetting your keys, get a good holster/belt and maybe a SmartCarry when you're in a skirt or baggy clothes. A gun in a purse is rather useless and I would think dangerous. I know it takes my wife 5 minutes to find anything in her purse if it's not right on top. I can imagine hooking the trigger on an eyeliner and having an AD.

I don't know about that... The CZ75 is one heck of a nice weapon. It may be the most copied handgun of all time, and while I love my 1911, I wouldn't turn away a CZ for anything (the 97 is just as sweet as the 75).
