so whats this about a PIN number I hear? do you get that in the mail once they start processing your packet?

Exactly. If you don't get one in about a month, you might want to call or e-mail DPS.

be sure and keep track of your PIN number as you'll need it for future on-line dealings with DPS. When I signed up for the CHL instructors course the form required my PIN number before I could complete it. Had to wait a few days until I could get it emailed from Austin.

I got my pin letter the day before my CHL appeared in my mailbox.
