I think the stiffener makes a difference in places where you have to drop your pants (like the bathroom).

That raises a question I have never even considered... what do you do with your pistol when you do drop trouw and it's in a public restroom stall where the divider walls don't go all the way to the floor? How do you keep from getting made then?

Don't know if this works for anyone else, but I simply rotate things 90 deg so that holstered gun lays in between my legs.

But I have a 54" waist, so lots of room to rotate things.

It depends on the situation. I generally take the far end stall, which is usually a larger handicap stall. I am right-handed, and these examples assume you are right-handed and carrying strong-side. Reverse walls in these examples if you are left-handed. If the wall is to my right, then I can simply drop my pants with the gun holstered, and any view of the gun will be obscured by my pants/leg/toilet. If the the stall is oriented the other way around (wall on your left), then I unholster and place the gun on the toilet paper dispenser (or other suitable surface). Depending on the proximity of the neighboring stalls (or if I'm in a stall other than the one on the far end), I may pull the holster off my belt along with the gun and place both up on the toilet paper dispenser.

One of the important steps of the Wally Walk is to use the bathroom and to prepare beforehand what you will do.
