NC...no carry in any place that you pay admission...

Well, since I'm stationed in NC I've done pretty good about their CC laws. Found out tonight though that you can't carry into any place that you have to pay admission (example...movie theater tonight). I when to the movies with some buddies tonight, got our tickets and proceeded to walk inside. I didn't see the medal detectors on the inside (they was behind the wall)....well, I set it off and had 4 police officers walk up to me and start questioning me. I told them yes, I had my CHL and was carrying my Seecamp in my front right pocket. They was actually pretty cool about it though, one walked me back outside, asked to see my CHL and DL. After confirming I was legal (for the most part  ) he just told me to go put it in my truck then I could come back in. Just wanted to share that.

Sounds like a pretty good response by the officers...I suspect they could have leagally responded differently.

I like the laws much better in Texas...if you don't want me in there, post a legal 30.06 sign...much better than the law you ran into in NC.

If you don't mind me asking, which branch of the service are you in (I'm assuming the "stationed" comment implied military)?

Thanks for the information; that's a new one on me. When I hear ridiculous restrictions like that, it makes me appreciate Texas even more. We have some off-limits locations that still need to go (like all of them), but we are far better off than most other states.

Georgia has a similar ill-defined "public gathering" law. Like all gun controls laws, it was intended to be applied against "those people", but is now applied against all.

The racist roots of gun control have come back to bite everyone in the butt.

All the more reason for new legislation to be put forward in 2009.. CHL anywhere a LEO does and do away with all these little restrictions (30.06) and the abiguous situations that befalls us because of them. No more "well, there's a possibly legal sign on that door over there, but..."
Clear, cut and dried. If LEO can carry there, so should CHL, commissioned security officer or anyone else who has to jump through the hoops to legally carry.
