Good evening everyone,
I just got the ok from my CHL class that I'm enrolled for the March 8th class, I'm very excited. Now I'm really confused because I've had people tell me to fill out the application on the TXDPS website, but when the instructor emailed me with my class date he sent me a copy of what the class provides. It said that the class included use of firearms, ammo, fingerprinting, passport photos, DPS application, notery and ect... and he said they even put it all together for you. So what are my options, is it faster one way or another? Let me know. Also, can you even fill out the DPS application before you take the class?

Re: Class and apps
You could fill out the app ahead of time, but you'd risk having to do it over. There are some (IIRC) things that aren't exactly intuitively obvious to the casual observer what should/should not be included.
Regardless, the slow clock doesn't start until the DPS receives your package, so it won't really make a noticeable difference in the total duration (IMHO).
