While filling out my CHL forms it requested background arrest or conviction information. It requested information for arrests of felony convictions or Mis Class A & B convictions for the last 5 years. I filled in nothing for either one of the sections, however, I have a question now. I was arrested a couple of times for un-paid traffic tickets and just paid traffic tickets and that was it. I never thought of it as being an actual arrest or at least anything over a Class C Mis. It was all about 19 years ago, I did a background search on myself and DPS records didn't show anything on me, no arrests, no convictions or anything at all. I couldn't remember the dates or anything else about the incidents so again, I left everything blank. Now, after filling everything out and sending it in, I am kind of wondering what is going to go on with my application. Does anyone think any of this will be a problem? Like I said, I have no felony or Class A or B Mis and any kind of runin i have ever had was 19 years ago and was for un paid parking tickets.
Thanks for any replies,
Eric

Re: Background Info
In addition to FBI and DPS records, I think DPS has an investigator check records in the counties where you lived. If the arrest happened in the same county where you live now and the county keeps arrest records from 19 years ago, the investigator might find it. If so, "you got some splaining to do."

Re: Background Info
If you were only picked up and you paid the fine on your tickets and were released, then you are good to go.
DPS only needs info on arrests in which you were photographed and fingerprinted.

Re: Background Info
The two times it happened, I was stopped and they ran my name, had unpaid tickets so they took me in. I have never been finger printed or photographed, all I did was just pay the ticket fees and I was on my way. This is why I didn't really worry about it but after reading some things here I was just wondering. I don't have an issue buying guns... just bought another one Saturday Springfield XD-40, great pistol.

Re: Background Info
I was told told by two different technicians at the DPS office that if you were not fingerprinted, to not even bother listing it.
