Their turning them out in Austin...
Well, like several other members on the board recently, my status changed this morning to "Application Completed - Certificate Issued." They must be gettin' with it down there in Austin. Now I just have to hope that the mail man has the same kind of work ethic, ha.

Mailman is likely to say, "Is it 4:30 yet?"XDandy wrote:Well, like several other members on the board recently, my status changed this morning to "Application Completed - Certificate Issued." But if your mailman is asking about 4:20, it will probably take longer.Hoppes wrote:Mailman is likely to say, "Is it 4:30 yet?"

I wonder how many people in my CHL class have already done their "Wally Walk"?

Re: Their turning them out in Austin...
I have a lady that used to work in our office that is not at 120 days and DPS' response is, "Yeah we're running way behind." The next time I get stopped by a DPS trooper for speeding, I'll just tell him "Yeah, I running way late." I'm sure that will go over well.

Re: Their turning them out in Austin...
I talked to DPS yesterday. They said it was running 4-6wks JUST TO GET THE INFO PUT INTO THE COMPUTER!!!!
DH took his renewal last month & they had packet by the 10th IIRC, and his web info has not even updated to Processing App yet! At this rate he will expire before he gets the renewal in hand...
When I did my reneal in 11/07, it was running about4wks from receipt of pkt in Austin, to plastic in hand. I had mine well before my exp date. I cannot believe they suddenly got overwhelmed with paperwork. I wonder how many folks quit/laid off/fired there recently?

Re: Their turning them out in Austin...
Why can't they hire some contract labor to do data input till they get caught up? God knows they've got enough revenue to do that at $140 (new) per app.Vic303 wrote:I talked to DPS yesterday. They said it was running 4-6wks JUST TO GET THE INFO PUT INTO THE COMPUTER!!!!

Re: Their turning them out in Austin...
I received the same message, but IN ALL CAPS SCREAMING AT ME. I e-mailed back, very politely, that it's been 6 weeks since DPS signed for it on 1/28/08, and wanted to make sure they didn't need anything else from me. I don't want to pi$$ of a gatekeeper.Vic303 wrote:I talked to DPS yesterday. They said it was running 4-6wks JUST TO GET THE INFO PUT INTO THE COMPUTER!!!!

In the meantime, I just wait patiently, trying different holsters, handguns, carry styles, cover garments, etc. while carrying at the house.
