Hey guys. I just got two of the RC German 98K's in from AIM. Nice guns. One is s/n 6338, with a code of S/243. This one is manufactured 1938. The falcon (or whatever exactly the German bird is! LOL) does not have the swastika under it on this one. The other is s/n 16388, with a code of byf, manufactured in '44, and the bird does have the swastika. I have heard that many of the weapons made in Germany toward the end of the war were not of the quality (for obvious reasons!) as the earlier models. The later rifle does appear to not have quite as clean stamps in the metal. Can anyone tell me what the manufacturer codes mean and which is generally the more desirable.....older and possibly better built or the later built with the Nazi stamp? I want to give the "better" of the two to my son as a gift and other than mentioned above, they both seem to be in pretty much the same condition. Thanks guys and happy shootin!
Greg
