Utah CFP Class in Austin Area

#1

Post by Charles L. Cotton »

If you are interested in taking a Utah CFP class in the Austin area in the next 2 or 3 weeks, please post on this thread. Also, if you know of an available classroom, let me know that as well.

Thanks,
Chas.

Count me in as long as it's not a Thursday night or the last weekend in June. Possibly my wife too.

Thanks!

As is indicated in the other thread, I'm definitely in.

A weekend or 6pm class would be preferable, but I should be able to work something during a weekday if I need to. My girlfriend is a possible as well.

As for classroom space, I can't think of anything that I have access to offhand, but you might check with Matt from Central Texas Protection Training Academy/Lone Star Gun Range in Lockhart (username ctxpta on the forum here), as he has a nice classroom setup at his facility. He also does CHL classes there, so he may know some additional folks who would be interested in a Utah CHP.

There are quite a few folks on THR in the Austin area as well, so you might post this same question there and get some responses.

I'll check and see if I can find any other locations for the class as well.

Definitely interested; I have family in Ohio. Too bad the turn-around is too slow for my trip at the end of this month.

Bad for me: Wednesday and Thursday nights, Sunday mornings, and between 28 June and 13 July. Otherwise, I think that I can work my schedule around.

I would be interested, and I would be interested in your "defensive" class, like the one you taught in Dallas a long time ago.

Count me in - as long as it isn't this upcoming weekend (wife is out of town). We don't need a range, right? Just a classroom? I can ask around, but I don't know of any off the top of my head.

I'm definitely interested but will have do a "wait and see" until you get the date pinned down.
ROT Is this month (June 11-15) and... well... I think I would be breaking some law by missing a day. :cheers2:

I am interested in taking the class.

If push comes to shove, we can have the class at my house…And when the class is over…everyone can pitch in and help me finish building the pergola in the back yard for the wife!!!! LOL.

I would love to take the class. Just let me know when and where. Saturdays are the best times for me, as I would be coming up from San Antonio.

Yes, definitely interested and I’m sure the Austin Rifle Club would be willing to make room on their schedule. The education director can be contacted at education@austinrifleclub.org.

I have a dumb question...

Why would people in Texas interested in the CFP for Utah? Are there any special privileges granted to a holder of the Utah CFP?

:confused5

**I think I found it:

The Utah permit adds Washington, Ohio, Nevada, and Minnesota to the reciprocal states you have with your Texas CHL .

Also interested, also would be coming up from San Antonio (so weekends would be best), but also need to hold off committing unless/until the date is nailed down, as there are several things happening in the next few weeks (out of town for work, stuff for my wife's business, havin' a party, etc.). I also might be ineligible for the UT permit anyhow, so if an email back from their BCI indicates that, I'll EDIT this post removing my interest. :cryin

Is that from somewhere on this forum? The list I found at handgunlaw.us (updated last month) here (PDF) indicates that the add'l states are WA, OH, NV, & NH. It specifically lists MN as honoring the TX CHL. Curious to know which is correct.
