Status Update
I submitted my application on April 17 and since it has now been 60 days I decided to give DPS a call. Spoke with one of their reps (female) who advised me my application was received on April 24th. She additionally advised me that they were waiting on my background check. When I asked how long those were taking she indicated it depended on my background. I told her my background was clean. She couldn't give me any additional information on how long it was going to take. I thanked her and hung up. I did receive my PIN and check the website from time to time. Today: Processing Application. I will be sending an email to my state rep and Tom Craddick to see if things can be speeded up.

Did you ask the lady you spoke to for your pin or was it mailed to you? The reason I ask is, I sent my packet in about the same time you did, I emailed at the 60 day time frame and asked about my application. I received an email back that said my application had not been entered into the system yet and I would receive a letter with my pin after it had been entered. I haven't received that letter yet.

As already indicated in my first post, I received my PIN sometime in March for all of the good it has done me.

I feel your pain. I have yet to receive my pin. I called the DPS and was told they received my application but haven't yet entered me into the system, either.SOJ wrote:Did you ask the lady you spoke to for your pin or was it mailed to you? I'm waiting to the 90 day mark to start contacting my various state representatives. I figure that gives them some time over the statutory limit to get things done. I imagine I'll be plenty angry if, after 90 days, I still haven't been entered into the system.

I sent my app in on April 18th and was told they received it on April 23rd. I submitted my app online, so I already had a pin(which only drives you crazy once u have it). I recently emailed the office to make sure everything was in order and was told they are waiting on my background check as well.Looks like we are in the same group..
