Returning to Work

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

Returning to Work

#1

Post by jbirdswife »

As hard as it is to believe, "babybird" is already 10 months old and it is time for me to go back to work. I was SO VERY BLESSED to be able to spend the first months of her life at home and I am more thankful than I could ever say.

Tomorrow is the day, and my heart is sad. I am excited and nervous about my new job (an elementary librarian) - - it is what I have wanted for a long time. Jason and I have both really prayed about this, and we know that me returning to work is what is in God's Will for our family.

Will you all please pray for our family tomorrow? I know that God will provide me the strength to walk my precious daughter into her new school tomorrow and then walk back out...I am just praying that my heart will not feel like it is breaking as I do. I am also praying that God will comfort our daughter and that she will be able to feel His presence while Jason and I are not there.

Thank you in advance! We are going to work our way into this slowly, so she will not be there a full day until Wednesday. If you will continue to pray thoughout the week it would mean so much to all of us.

I remember the first time I left my little one in daycare...I was in tears before I got out of the building. He survived and I did as well. You'll be in my prayers.

Kim, you know you have my prayers, but I won't pretend this will be easy. I can well remember the first time we left our daughter (at age 3 yrs) at the daycare center. We all lived through it....but it was tough.

I'll be thinking of you guys tomorrow....and we'll be expecting a "report". ;-)

Kimberly,

I am sure you and babybird will do just fine. A co-worker of mine went through the same thing about a year ago. She had a couple of weeks of separation anxiety, but she soon realized it was a good thing for both of them and that her little darling was doing great at their daycare. The social interaction was great for both of them.

Hang in there and I know you guys will do wonderful. Will still add you to the prayer list to help ease the temporary heartache. ;-)

I know this is going to be hard for you, but I also know that with God you can do anything and I know that God will be there with you both. Only God can calm a storm and when He speaks peace, it is done. May the God of comfort, give you comfort as you look to Him, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

God Bless You, and may the Lord be with you.

May our Father shower you and your family with a multitude of blessings. I still remember the same scenario 29 years ago with my oldest son. We all got over it… we thought at the time we wouldn’t, but we did.

You go girl! Enjoy your new job and I know Babybird will enjoy her new school! You will have a lot to talk (gurgle and goo ga ga) about when you pick her up! As always you and your family are in my prayers!

Thank you to everyone who said prayers for us today. I know they were heard by Our Father and He showered blessings on both babybird and I!!

I am not going to lie and say that this morning wasn't hard. Leaving that room was the hardest thing I think I have ever done, but my precious daughter was playing away on the floor and did not seem the slightest bit concerned that I was inching closer to the door. I called to check on her several times and was told she was doing great. There was a slight meltdown right before her morning nap...but once they put her in the swing she was out like a light. I only stayed at my school for half the day, so I picked her up shortly after noon. She was swinging away, with her teacher sitting right beside her. When I told her hi from the doorway she looked over and her little face just lit up! That grin almost made the pain of leaving her go away.

I know that this will get easier each day, and I am so thankful for your friendship and all of your prayers! I hope all of you have a wonderful week as well!
