Address change during the application process? feasible?

#1

Post by maroast »

Hello! I’m new here and I have a question/ concern about getting my CHL. I just moved back to Texas and I finally have the resources to get my CHL, but there’s one problem though….the lease with my apartment complex is up at the end of October , and my GF and I will be moving to a new location (staying here is not an option as it is a hole).

My question is: will I have to wait until I have my new address (and change over my drivers ID) until I submit my CHL application? I know all of this material is highly address sensitive. I don’t want to wait until November to submit my application…and then have to wait up to 6 months to get the CHL…for a total 8-9 months.

I was planning on taking my CHL class this Friday because I though the wait time was going to be no longer than 60 days…then I was going to pony up the $25 for the address change right when I moved. But all of the reading I have been doing over the past several days points more towards 6 months!! This would put my address change right smack dab in the middle of the application process. Is this feasible? Or will it totally disrupt my application?

WHAT TO DO?!?!?! :cryin Any input would be great, thanks a lot.

The long wait is even more reason to apply as soon as you can.

Then notify them when you move. Pay $25 if they already issued the license. Pay $0 if they haven't issued yet.
If you can read this, thank a teacher. If it's on the internet, thank a geek.

That happened to me. I moved and got to do the $0 move form because it hadn't been issued yet. No problems at all - go ahead and apply.
