Returning to Work

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

I am not going to lie and say that this morning wasn't hard. Leaving that room was the hardest thing I think I have ever done, but my precious daughter was playing away on the floor and did not seem the slightest bit concerned that I was inching closer to the door. I called to check on her several times and was told she was doing great. There was a slight meltdown right before her morning nap...but once they put her in the swing she was out like a light. I only stayed at my school for half the day, so I picked her up shortly after noon. She was swinging away, with her teacher sitting right beside her. When I told her hi from the doorway she looked over and her little face just lit up! That grin almost made the pain of leaving her go away.

I know that this will get easier each day, and I am so thankful for your friendship and all of your prayers! I hope all of you have a wonderful week as well!

Glad things went well Kimberly; I knew they would. You may not think it now, but there will be a day when you are GLAD you can get away from her (like the age my daughter is, 15 :smilelol5: )

Seriously, the social interaction she will get will be well worth the time there, and the kids at your school will benefit from you being their wonderful librarian! :thumbs2:

Take care and God bless you guys!

I just knew Babybird would handle it well. You and Jbirds are raising her right! She is a very secure little lady.

Just saw this.

Sent a prayer for you & JG.

She looks like she's doing well.

Today was another good day. Babybird was happy and smiling when I left - - I was crying...but that's okay! :-) Nothing like a 30 minute commute on I-45 to snap you out of a funk!

CompVest - For the past few days I have basically been trying to reorganize my office and the circulation desk to better fit the way I will use them. Thankfully the previous librarian was WONDERFUL and did not leave a mess to clean up. The library is neat and clean, the book orders for this fall have been done, so all I will have to do is submit them once the budget goes through. I spent this morning adding teachers and withdrawing teachers from our automation system and making new check-out cards. I am anxious to get all of this clerical work taken care of so that I can focus on the kiddos once they arrive on the 26th. I am really blessed to be in a district that values their librarians and see them as a curriculum position, not a clerical one. Most of my days will be spent working directly with teachers and students, helping them find materials (books and online) that will support what they are doing in the classroom and their individual interests. I am really excited about that! Thanks for asking!

Thank you again to everyone for your prayers! I have felt God's arms hugging me tight the past few days, and I know that is because of all of your prayers on our behalf.

Thank you for the update. She is so beautiful and I know that feeling of having to leave them for the first time. I thank the Lord for being with you and your baby.

God Bless you,

If the picture is any indication, this is one happy, beautiful, well-adjusted kid!

Well, considering the parents, what else could you expect?

Continued prayers for you, babybird, and that "J" guy. ;-)

Well with all the traveling I am having to do lately, I just saw this. Don't get a chance to get online much anymore.

The lord has blessed you and Jason with a beautiful little girl. Seems she is handling it better than Mom.

As a father of 5 (4 girls) I can tell you it is hard but it does get easier. A few years from now, you will be begging for the time away so enjoy them while they are small.

Our prayers are with yall.
