Couple more weeks and it will be 6 months since I mailed my application.

Good grief. I may die of old age before they finish my application!

I thought I'd be the last one out of here at 161 days (received it Friday).

Joe Driver's office would be one I would contact, as well as the governor's office. He's the head of the Law Enforcement committee and DPS is within his purview. I was in the middle of writing to his office (he's actually my representative and I do vote for him) this morning when I found my application had been finally been approved (after a 90 day wait).

I'm still writing him as I believe the system is broken and in need of work.

I'd say the system is getting fixed now, as the wait for Jan-May applicants was on the order of of 120-150 days, including renewals, (mine was 161 but a couple weeks were my own fault). It now seems to be getting down to 90 days or so with reports of less. As you can see by my sig, the status site sat on "Application mailed" for longer than it took your application to get approved.

Browse the April and May groups. The powers that be have been bombarded with mail. Read Charles' posting on the subject. There are people working to fix the system.

(opps, you are browsing the April. Got to start being more aware of my surroundings I guess.)

I wonder if having lived in 7 different states is part of the reason for my long delay.

That has to complicate the background checks...

Good Higher Being! I waited just shy of 5 months, and have had the same address for 11 1/2 years. Had the same job for 10. Perhaps it has something to do with how "on the grid" we were. Who actually knows. In due time, you should get it. Hang in there my gentle friends.

April 21st. Sent in completed packet. Status changed today to license issued on November 21st. That seems like eternity. Now, let's see... it's Friday and next week is thanksgiving. Anyone want to wager I don't see the plastic unti December?
