What do you do when asked?

I read a post on opencarry.org today, where a student, who wasn't carrying, but who was wearing his Students for Concealed Carry sweatshirt, was standing at a fast foot counter waiting for his order.

All of a sudden, he felt someone patting his waist. Then it dawned on him that he wasn't being patted, he was being patted down. He turned around, and there was an 80+ "little old lady" feeling all around his waistline, demanding, "Where is it? I read your shirt! Where is it at?"

About that time his order arrived, so he grabbed the bag and scooted out.

Depends on who's asking...

If it was someone I know like Charles...SRVA...Anygun...DoubleJ...Kalrog...KBCraig...etc etc

More than likely it would be a question that did not have to be asked in the first place...

It has never been a question asked of me from people I do not know, work with, or even neighbors...

Concealed has always meant hidden from view, out of sight and mind...Not a topic of discussion outside of this forum...

That doesn't mean I do not answer a comment or question from somebody that tells me they are thinking about getting a CHL...Then I certainly tell them I think it's a good idea to get it...

At which point if they do not know who to go to, I steer them to folks I know...Little bits and pieces of the Steve puzzle start fitting at that point without me ever having to say yes or no to the original question...

He must have walked to the restaurant, and he to retreat in the same manner.

I think that the real question here is whether or not shooting the old lady is justified....that sounds like assault to me!!!

Technically, it is an assault -- any unwanted contact. IANAL, though.

It depends for me, too. If my mom or kids ask, or an LEO at a traffic stop, I'll tell the truth. Otherwise, I'll try to get a quizzical expression on my face, and say "Who me????" After all, as a fluffy middle-aged woman, I really don't fit the profile.
