BLACKLAND GUNWORKS NEVER AGAIN

I was looking for gas rings today for my AR and no one has it except at Blackland Gun Works in Taylor. First of one of the employee told me that they have it for $12 for 3 rings. Last time I bought a set cost me close to $3 at GDS Enterprise in Austin. Anyways, I was already there and was desperate to have it. Then he lowers the price to $9. He probably felt a little guilty and lowered the price. Was there a raise in price on this item as well? I've been checking online tonight and most prices are ranging from $1.50 to $3.00.

I can not believe that they (Blackland Gun Works) took advantage of me. I should have turned around and took my business somewhere else (stupid me).

Every item cost money to purchase and sell. If they order daily these rings from someone that isn't part of a larger order and they are not a high volume item. They might be just trying to cover the costs of making the special order. How much is item online if you are buying 3 of them including shipping. I figure the real shipping costs would be about 0.38 most places will charge a lot more than that.

They had an item you were desperate to have, and they were the only ones in the area who bothered to stock the item. So, you spent a bit more than what you could have bought them for online, and Im sure most folks do buy them online, so the local store would need to charge a bit more to make stocking the item worth it.

They are convenient but their overhead is much more than online retailers.

I had a person tell me a crush washer was $15 at the Pasadena show about a month ago... I walked 30' and bought 2 crush washers for $5 total. I took one back and offered to sell it to the first guy for $8 so he could double his money on future sales... It was funny the guy selling "super valuable" crush washers for $15, was not interested in buying one for $8. Glad I did NOT give him any business.

I completely agree. Just wait a few months.....you might be willing to sell your blood for those gas rings

Nine bucks is pretty small potatoes if you walked away with what you need. You would have come very close to that with shipping.
