Re: Is there a comfortable way to carry?
I amnot big on plugs, but I got my new belt yesterday and what a huge difference a good belt makes when carrying. No sliding, or movement in your holster at all... I got mine from the Beltman it was not to much at all.. I have to dress up for work and it is a nice looking belt to work in too... thanks Beltman. DW
Thanks David

hahahaha I honestly have the bag jack bauer used in one of the seasons. Didnt realize it until after it was delivered but i use it pretty often. My wife refers to it as the JackSack. Hey for 20 buck for a decent bag ill take the criticism.

Re: Is there a comfortable way to carry?
Belly band for me. In the winter I wear it outside my shirt as I always wear a vest. It works handy as a decoy also using the following scenario:
Bad guy walks up and is wielding a knife or gun. You quickly say, "i have $1000 cash in my pocket" while reaching to the inside of the vest like you are getting the money. You then pull out your firearm instead of the loot he was expecting to get!
In the summer I wear the belly band inside my shirt. I have always worn button up Chaps style shirts. Simply grab your shirt and yank to break the buttons loose.
I am right handed and keep the firearm on my left rib cage for a cross draw which feels the most comfortable to me. I have thought about carrying in other ways (IWB, AWB, Ankle) but they just seem awkward to me. I have never been made while carrying. Not even by my wife. I carry a S&W model 442 Airweight 38 Special revolver loaded with 38 Supers (had the cylinder chambered in 9X23 which allows me to practice with 9MM and carry the 38 supers for protection).

Re: Is there a comfortable way to carry?
I'm very excited...I ordered my maxpedition purse...er bag, today.
Re: Is there a comfortable way to carry?
I have tried about every possible way there is to carry. The minimum caliber I will carry is .38. In the summer I carry my airweight in a cheap uncle mikes in the waistband holster at 4 o'clock with my shirt untucked. Fall, winter and spring I wear a vest ( 5.11 ) and carry a Glock 21 in a Fobus at 4 o'clock canted slightly forward. It bulges a bit even though i'm wearing a 5.11 tactical vest, but it does not print. These are the two most comfortable ways to carry for me.
Re: Is there a comfortable way to carry?
Waiting on CHL, I am wearing my OWB Sig 229 around the houe and find that all of my shirts don't conceal very well. Is that normal? Does a IWB conceal more thoughly?
Re: Is there a comfortable way to carry?
It really depends on what is not concealing very well on your 229. Carrying IWB will hide anything below the waistband of your pants, so if your shirt rides up and doesn't go above the waistline, then your covered.sig229fan wrote:Waiting on CHL, I am wearing my OWB Sig 229 around the houe and find that all of my shirts don't conceal very well. If you are talking about the but of the gun protruding and causing a bump in your shirt, then IWB probably won't be any better unless the IWB holster turns the butt of the gun inward more toward your body.
Hope that helps.

Re: Is there a comfortable way to carry?
The "bump" of the gun is what concerns me. I don't believe anyone will see the hardware itself, but there is a noticeable protrusion on the 4 o'clock.
Re: Is there a comfortable way to carry?
Most people will not be able to determine what the 'bump' is. However, if it very prominent, you might look at finding another holster that will turn the butt more toward your body. Many IWB holsters will do this better than an OWB, as they put the gun closer into the body.sig229fan wrote:The "bump" of the gun is what concerns me. I read a ton of great reviews on this holster and while I've only got it and a simple softsided one to compare I have to say wow. I just got my CHL this week and carried this holster with me in the house and then out today. It took me a bit to get it all adjusted correctly. But once you get your cant right you can just roll the butt forward and it dosen't stick out your back and print. It'll ride up under your arm. I wear mine at about 4 o'colck.

I carry a Full sized 45 in a iwb holster and it is comfortable. It sits right if front of my right pocket in a 4 clok position.
