It looks like a pretty good deal to me, bujt I've found Vista home basic pretty unusable . You might concider upgrading to XP pro Linux, DOS 6.2 or one of the better Vista packages.
OK I'm just kidding about DOS, but really VISTA basic is the biggest piece of trash since ME ..

Depends on what you need it for, but with that kind of horse power and RAM, that's a good deal.

are you just using it for light webbrowsing?

I would just get a netbook for a little bit less, its more portable, better battery life, plus the chicks dig it.

Like others said why do you want a new computer. There are netbooks for $300-400 if you want to read email and surf. If you need more power that looks like a good price for that machine.

If you're not in a hurry, I would watch http://bensbargains.net/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; as they ALWAYS have deals on laptops. And it changes quite often (many times a day)

For example, they have this right now (if a Netbook works for you):
BestBuy.com has the HP 1030NR Mini Netbook with Intel Atom Processor N270 for $400 + shipping. It has good specs for a Netbook, including 10.2" TFT-LCD at 1024 x 600, 1GB DDR2, 16GB SSD, Built-in HP webcam, Windows XP Home Edition SP3.

Ended up being $674 after taxes. Not bad.

I'm excited!
Hope you enjoy it.

Good thing you got the Genuine Vista. Fake Vista just isn't the same.
