Air Marshall Blows Cover

#1

Post by carlson1 »

Did anyone see this? US Air Marshall drops a mag full of ammo and the ammo springs out on a Southwest Airplane. I believe it was in Chicago. The news said he identified himself and stepped off of the plane. If it happens to a Air Marshall it can happen to us. I guess he should be happy it was not his pistol.

Equipment problems in public are definitely a bad thing regardless of your occupation.
I dropped my pocket knife on the floor at the grocery trying to get change out of my pocket and the people behind me in line GASPED.

I relate. When getting started several yrs ago I had my extra mags in an old nylon cell phone case. It was getting rather worn out. Bent over to get some hardware off a bottom deep shelf at Lowes. Mags fell out. No one was around so I gathered them up & when I got home headed straight to the internet stores.

Old cell phone cases for extra magazines. Good idea. I'll have to remember that one next time I'm at garage sales or on e-bay.

They are not that hard to spot. I recently spotted one while waiting at the gate. You could clearly see he was wearing a tuckable holster and make out the handle through his shirt. Could also clearly see the clip on his belt from the holster. But then, as many here, I was looking for it. ;-) This guy really stood out though.

Yes Venus, they are good for that. The flap & velcrow over the top. If they are too loose sew the sides together to tighten them. Mine had worn until one stitched side was loose, Yes dumb, top worked out of the flap & CLANG ON THE FLOOR. At least no bullets went springing across the isle like our Marshall.

And now for the big question... what ELSE were you carrying that could have been the real source of the problem? He has a knife, I bet he has a gun too! Oh NO!!!

I'm not sure why he stepped off the plane. Ain't that kind of like a cop walking into a place and leaving because there might be a robbery?

I figured it was because his cover was blown & leaving gives less chance of beiing remembered, studied, & IDed later. Any undercover that is blown gets out fast. My 1st thoughts.

+1 - that's my thought as well.

Probably just left the other one on there.

'sides that, one of the things I recall from the shooting last year is that those fellows always travel in teams. There must have been at least one more on the airplane, if that bit of info is accurate.

*edit*
Duh, should have fully read the post above mine. :-)

You should see what happens when you drop a full 30 round magazine from a Colt SMG (9mm submachinegun, built from an AR receiver).

You've seen those gag snakes shooting out of the peanut can? Yup, a lot like that. Ammo flies everywhere. And this is guaranteed to happen every single time a mag is dropped.
