Incident at WalMart - unfinished story

#1

Post by Commander »

While I was having my truck serviced today, the manager (that I know) of the shop related an incident that occured at Wal-Mart in Rockwall last week.

Several vehicles had lined up waiting turns at the gas pumps. When one vehicle moved, a vehicle not in line sped in and parked at the pump. The manager, seeing this, went out to tell the driver to move and wait his turn. Instead the driver attacked the manager and began beating her (yes, HER). From one of the vehicles in line, emerged someone who pulled a gun in what apparently was an attempt to stop the attack. At this point, the details got sketchy, Rockwall Police arrived, but he wasn't sure how it ended....

I wondered if it was a CHL holder that came to the rescue. I've said it before as have others, you just never know when or where an incident will happen.

You'd think Rockwall would be pretty quiet, but we had another incident last week where a guy took his AK47 type rifle and opened fire into the door of an apartment of another. I can't find the newpaper article on it, but it seems like the guy in the apartment was injured. Rumor is that the shooter had just found that the other guy had been having a "fling" with the shooters wife.

That is so messed up. I'm not surprised that the guy attacked the manager.

There's people out there in the world that will try to kill you just for standing up for what is right.

Those same people who act all hard turn around, beg, and run when a gun is pointed at them in self-defense.

Yes Boma some do whine & cry. But some have no regard at all for life, including theirs. They come to stay till the fight is over. Reason most carry a reload & some of us carry two. Kind of liked that last post I read. Forgot who already (quiet Brown) Keep practicing failure to stop drills they wont have head armor for a while.

It is sad that this type of thing is happening more and more. That is why you must be aware of your surroundings and situations that may occur.

Rockwall Shooter

Well, paper reported that the victim was on the phone with the 911 dispatch, reporting that there was a man outside his door with a rifle.
Dispatch heard the shooting while talking to victim.

Needless to say, Rockwall police got to zoom thru town. I know cause I happened to be on the road when 7 (!) police cars went by.

Anyway, victim was hit in the arm, and is ok.
Shooter laid down weapon after attack, and waited quietly on police to show up. He is in custody, and being held on aggravated assault (IIRC)

Oh, and I just found the forum today! Woot!!

Welcome to the forum.

I wonder if the Rockwall police are equipped to deal with an AK equipped shooter.

Thanks!
Looking forward to hooking up with others here, and getting in some range time!

Praise God, it is REAL quiet around here in Rockwall. I have a good friend that is a Rockwall police officer, and 'Friend' said that it was no wonder that all possible units were rolling, as that just doesn't happen. 'Friend' usually works that shift, but was off that night. Whew! My profession doesn't have to involve rocket-fuel to determine it was a shooting when 7 patrol cars pass you at 80+ in a 45Mph zone in under 2 minutes.

I don't believe that Rockwall has AR-15s.
In fact, Dallas just got their first 800 AR-15s from Rock River 2 months ago.

For laughs, look at the ratio of people that are CHL holders in Rockwall Co.
1:20 that you are going to mess with the wrong person... and that ratio is getting smaller.

A former training partner of mine is a Sgt. with that department. I will e-mail him and see what hes willing to share about this incident.

I'm curious. Where did you get those stats? I'd love to see them broken down by other counties.

nitrogen,

The DPS/CHL website has all those stats, broken down in various categories.

Go to:

http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/administra ... rocity.htm

Click on Demographic information mid way down the left side of the page.
