Well, it's not a fanny pack...

It's not a fanny pack. It's a thigh pack. It's marketed to motorcycle riders.

I don't think I would ever use it, but if someone's interested, here you go:

I have on and wear it when I ride.
My carry weapon fits nicely and rides on top of my left thigh. Of course, you have to be able to shoot left handed ( I am a rightie) on a bike.

interesting idea.

having slid down the road, I don't want anything hard attached to me.

I keep mine in the tank bag. Its not ideal by any means. and transfer to my person can be a bear. but I don't need anything else to land on if I fall off...

+1 on tank bag, its great, right infront of you ready to roll.

And some even have sholder straps so you can un-magnet it from the tank and on the sholder it goes.

That is one nice thing about having a full dresser with a full fairing with lockable storage compartments... you have a place to put your pistol. That's where I kept mine when I had my touring bike... Kawasaki 1300-B2 touring (1980 model). Of course, then it was WAY before CHL days and I only took the pistol while on overnight stays where I could prove "traveling".

Here is a good option for carrying while riding:

http://www.desantisholster.com/n15.html

You wear it on the hip, it looks like a PDA case. Lots of my riding buddies have them, I just ordered one for myself, should be here today or tomorrow.

My Harley Ultra has lots of lockable storage space, but I would rather my weapon be on my person.

In April of 2003, I had the misfortune of being right where a deer was landing after it came over an 8 foot game fence on a two lane road near Junction. The collission happened at about 65 miles an hour, the first I saw of the deer was when I looked straight up. The resulting crash and my cartwheeling down the highway basically broke everything on the right side of my body. All the right side ribs, some front and back both, collarbone, shoulder, sternum, right foot, and the right leg was broken in 20 places between the knee and the ankle, which was also broken.

I was not carrying at the time, don't know how wearing a gun would have affected anything as far as further injuries. During cooler weather, I normally wear a shoulder holster under my leather jacket, or just put my weapon in one of my leather jacket's big inside pockets.

Diode,

On that link above, click on the menu to the left, under 'Gunny Sacks, Belly Bands, Gun Caddies', you will see there are a couple of different sizes. I ordered the ER Rider II for my Kimber Ultra Compact. It is not listed in their list of guns for each case, but I measured the Kimber, then went with the case that measured for a Glock 26 as it is very close to the same size.

Hope you find something that works for you !

PS - on my meeting Bambi: I do not tell any Kids that I took out a flying reindeer.... especially around Christmas !!

haha, I hate to ride anywhere near dusk or dawn. First I ever heard of one dropping outta the sky and getting someone. What are the odds?
