I'm new to the forum and have enjoyed reading your comments.

I've been waiting for 77 days now. Five weeks after dps received my app. they requested additional proof of citizenship. I've had the pin for 30 day now so hopfully it won't be much longer.

Received by DPS March 22.
Letter dated April 27 requesting proof of citizenship received April 29
Proof of citizenship sent May 1
Letter Dated April 27 with pin received May 6
June 6 processing application!!!!!!!!!

Seems like everyone that has had something wrong with the application goes from right around 60-70 days to around 100-120.

Hang in there, it will come soon enough.

Welcome to the waiting room & the forum. Glad you finally decided to join up. Wish they would start asking for more documentation from all that are not citizens. :mad5

Wait until 30 days pass, it takes that long to get in the system.

Didn't seem that quick tho. My wife kept getting "not in the system" whenever she checked the web site but mine said "being processed" and yet we both got the permits in the mail on the same day. I felt almost like I did as a teen when my driver's license came lol!

What gets me about this is that it was five week after they got the app. before they asked for additional info.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there a line in the application that asks your citizenship? I guess they didn't believe that I was US citizen even after I told them.

Oh man....after re-reading my posts because of the comments saying how fast we got our permits, I noticed that I typed April. That should have been MARCH! Please accept my apology. I remember signing up and making a post in the class schedules & locations forum the day after taking the class http://www.texasshooting.com/TexasCHL_F ... .php?t=127
and went back to that forum to make sure what day it was....again, I apologize and no, I'm not a LEO or anything.
