Same here at Mens Wearhouse. I carried on purpose and made them aware of it so that they'd tailor to it. Neither the saleslady nor the tailor missed a beat, it was like they see it all the time.rgoldy wrote:I have had more than a couple of suit jackets and a sport coat slightly re-tailored to better conceal a waistband holster.
The folks at the Jos A Bank store where I go have been very understanding and cooperative about making it fit right.
No apparent qualms about the pistol.

It wasn't my first choice of places to go, but was the only place I knew of that had a decent Big&Tall selection as I have broad shoulders and a large neck. Given more advanced notice, I would have gladly gone somewhere else.Photoman wrote:NcongruNt wrote:I recently went in to get fitted for a suit at Men's Warehouse (in a non-posted mall) and advised the lady working with me that I had a CHL and was carrying and wanted to be fitted with considerations for my carry gun. She hemmed and hawed (no pun intended) about it and went into the back for several minutes and returned. I then noticed the mall security folks camped outside the store in their SUV (there was an outside entrance) for the remainder of my time there. She wouldn't fit me for the gun....
Please...spend your hard earned money somewhere else next time. There are many taylors mature enough to work with you regarding firearms.
Well, considering how freaked out she was initially, I'd say she handled the situation relatively well. I can't completely fault her for not wanting to fit with the gun... It is a small store, and there was no way to do the fitting discreetly and completely away from other customers. Their fitting area is almost smack-dab in the middle of the store and is without privacy walls. I agree that the people who work there should be properly prepared to work with clients who carry handguns, and would imagine that this should be addressed at a training level. Concealed handguns had obviously not been addressed at all in this particular employee's training, as she was beside herself at what to do initially, and could only mutter "I don't think we allow that in here". The mall and store are definitely not posted in any way. I'll see if I can come up with a suggestion about this to send to their corporate offices.Mithras61 wrote: Personally, I would send a letter of complaint. The Men's Wearhouse near me is used by many undercover & business types, and fits without batting an eye. If the tailor isn't professional enough to handle a concealed firearm, they shouldn't be working there. Besides, what ever happened to "You'll like the way you look. I guarantee it." as claimed by George Zimmer
