Many of us have used Martini Hardware on Lawndale for FFL transfers.
I just learned that the patriarch, Les, died August 18th.
Then their store was badly damaged by Ike.
They have requested that no firearms be sent to them until they can get things squared away, probably November.

Even though this isn't in the prayer request Forum, I will pray for the family for their loss and as they recover from the effects of the storm.

Always liked going to that store (a lot of hard to find things there). Better customer service than at Lowe's or Home Depot at Gulfgate.

Re: Martini Hardware news
Great folks!! Cyndi went ahead and processed my transfer since it was already enroute.
They have no power in the western half of their building and have had to relocate their checkout and office to the eastern end. I saw no physical damage to the exterior, but the ceiling is gone from most of the western half, probably the result of roof leaks.
She confirmed that they intend to continue processing transfers. They just need another month or so to get things back closer to normal.
Several customers today were buying cut glass for windows, a service not found in every hardware store. Martini Hdwe is just what their neighborhood needs right now.

Martini Hardware is back up to speed accepting transfers.
Effective 2/1/09, they are now charging $20 per transfer.
Great folks to deal with!

It's good to hear their back in business.
