In Missouri, the state was labeling people with Ron Paul bumpers stickers as potential terrorists. That goes right to the heart of "Support via the political and legal process-heart of democracy." That's why this Homeland Security report is so dangerous.

Don't be daft. People like that aren't patriots. People like that are called cop killers, as in PA.
People at Lexington and Concord are traitors? They are the reason you sit here and don't answer to a King and Queen in England sir. I suggest you go read a history book and apply some critical thinking skills to the current situation, the article in question, and understand the world is not so black and white. Otherwise, sounds like we might have a D.C. spokesperson in our midst.

P.S. I am not defending the PA shooter's actions, but that incident is completely different than having someone label me a domestic terrorist for supporting our Constitution and using that as grounds for confiscation, coercion, or even execution...everyone who signed our Constitution knew they would be committing treason, but to us they are patriots. Remember that before making such short sighted comments.

1. They were traitors to the British government. They just happened to win.
2. The states also took up arms against the Union. They lost. They are still called traitors.

Think carefully before replying. Are you advocating armed insurrection against the US government?

I could be wrong (surprise, surprise) but I think you went off on a tangent here. I think the point of this thread is that what one sees as "terrorism", another sees as an exercise of rights in a free society. Of course that works both ways, it just depends which side of the spectrum you are currently on.
I don't see this as any poster advocating insurgency.
I also pose this question: Why would you call the Patriots that DID go and stand up to tyranny; traitors, murderers or dogs? And, how do you equate them to cop-killers?
Here comes the next obvious question: When is a Patriot a Patriot, then? When they stand up for what you believe is right only?

I believe that the proper question is: How shall Texas surrender its moral, economic and social autonomy to a victorious principle of Union?

Since 1865, that question remains open. Texas is a minority that has been, up till now, jealous of its minority right to live its own kind of life. Texas scarcely hopes to determine for other sections, but it does propose to determine itself, within the utmost limits of legal action. That's what this resolution is all about; firearms are certainly part of the equation of our determination, but not exclusively.

If Texas remains quiet and reserved among some of our other fellow States, we may serve only as a Virgilian illustration -sed argutos inter strepere anser olores and seem only to "hiss like a goose among the tuneful swans."

Not a word on either ABC(KVUE) or NBC(KXAN) Austin local TV news stations about the governor's speech this morning. Not a single word about it on their news web sites. SIGH! :headscratch :grumble

Got that right. In Houston, I watched the evening news on both the ABC and NBC affiliates. Not one peep about Perry's press release, but I now know quite a bit about Bo and the Portuguese Water Dog breed... :???:

When did anyone say say anything about an armed insurrection? I certainly did not, nor did I call the men at Concord and Lexington "cop-killers"...I don't think I need to justify that one in the slightest because it is so factually wrong. I am advocating that it is unreasonable (putting it lightly) for the United States Federal Government to say that people that support the Constitution (10th amendment), which is the supreme law of the land in this country, could be considered a "right wing extremist."

Think what you want, but I know I am done with this discussion as there is a clear lack of reasoning and rational thought going on here. Good day

I'm pretty much done with this one before I begin...

So some people want to be Torrey's (or in this case Washitorians), and some want to LEGISLATIVELY challenge an oppressive tyrannical overseer...Also known as Patriots (or in this case Texans)

I really like the idea of HCR 50, and the foot it theoretically puts down...

Someone apparently believes this automatically puts them in the middle of another civil war...Geesh...

Just because a great number of us have guns...Doesn't mean we have to use them this time...We are not even close...
