Not sure if this fits in this category or not since it didn't happen to me, but thought it interesting/scary enough to remind us all to stay diligiant

BTW, I'm waiting on my plastic, but did procure me a new weapon over the weekend, and this weapon will be my carry weapon. A Glock 27. Since I got it I carry it everywhere I legally can (Car, Home and make sure it's in the room I'm in in the house). Kinda funny as I was feeling a little weird about making sure it's always within reach. This is a reminder for me to get over the "weird" feeling about always having it with me.

Re: Home invasions in Wylie
This is why there's a little over 300 lbs of canine running around my house on 12 legs. In eight years of law enforcement, I never worked a burglary or home invasion at a house that had a dog. I'm sure it happens once in a while, but the bad guys tend to skip houses if they hear barking. And my house doesn't need a beware of dogs sign either, thanks to the front bay window with the pit bull perch.

Maybe this evening I'll add a photo of what this looks like from the outside (potential burglar point of view).

Home invasions in the Houston area is what prompted me to finally arm myself. I now have my CHL and carry almost everywhere I go.mtbiker wrote:Not sure if this fits in this category or not since it didn't happen to me, but thought it interesting/scary enough to remind us all to stay diligiant

This event in Wylie/Lavon and Sachse has me troubled. My parents and my sister's family both live approx. 1/2 mile (in opposite directions) from where these guys hit in Sachse, and my brother lives a few blocks away from where they hit in Wylie. I've made sure they are aware of these invasions, and suggested they arm their alarms all the time...along with arming themselves.

Hopefully that's more than one dog. OTOH, the alternative might be scarier.tfrazier wrote:This is why there's a little over 300 lbs of canine running around my house on 12 legs.
