From ASC's website for the pistol and rifle range.

$8.31 per rifle
(1 shooter / 1 rifle)
$3.69 per each additional rifle

$11.09 per pistol
(1 shooter / 1 pistol)
$5.54 - each additional pistol

Range fee is good for the day.
(One Free Target)

Additional Targets - .92¢ - $1.39

Steel Target additional $7.00
(per person)
 Won't be going there when I'm in Houston anymore.
I go there about once or twice a month. If those are the rules, they are not tightly enforcing them. They seem to just charge you whatever rate is more expensive. Keep in mind that they have a number of ranges, so if you take some pistols and rifles you pay for those separately (a charge per range, not per gun). I have never felt that they were robbing me. I know that I have seen my own party and others take 3 or 4 handguns and lay them all out on the bench. No one has asked to see my receipt over the issue.

I'll give a +1 to Memorial. I've shot there and at Top Gun and I really liked the guys at Memorial. I think someone mentioned that it was by hour, but when we went there about a month ago, I'm sure we were there a couple of hours and they weren't running us off. Maybe if it was busier they would be more restrictive on the time. I was in and out at Top Gun within one hour. However, since they write the time you got the lane on a big white erase board behind the counter; I think they may be more picky about the time. They are also probably busier than Memorial.

For gun rentals, Top gun has memorial beat. I think Memorial had 8 or 9 guns to rent. Top gun must have had 30 different rental guns. Just note, if you plan to rent a gun at Top Gun, they will give you the third degree about what you own and where you normally shoot. After grilling me for about 5 minutes, the guy behind the counter plopped the Beretta 92 I wanted to rent on the counter and said "Make it Safe." I guess I passed the test because he got alot nicer after that (just note, I know they need to do that to protect themselves and the other shooters, but the attitude may turn some folks off).

For the person that asked if you have to use their ammo. It's only if you rent one of their guns.
Thanks,
Rich

Top Gun in Houston charges $16.00 an hour to shoot. That seems pretty high to me. I think American Shooting Center charges about $12.00 and you can shoot all day long.

If you are a senior citizen you can shoot free at Top Gun on Mondays - provided you buy their ammo. Bring your own ammo and you'll pay the full price on the range fee. Kind of irritated me yesterday when I went there to shoot. I wanted to shoot my .357 snubby (using .38 sp. ammo of course) and they didn't have any .38sp in stock. So I went over to Collectors Firearms and got some .38 ammo. When I got back to Top Gun they said since I didn't buy my ammo from them I would have to pay the full range fee. I explained that I "tried" to buy the ammo from them, but that didn't make any difference. I paid the fee, but I won't do that again.

IMO Shiloh is one of the best ranges in the Houston area. Take a look at their policy.

I know of three but they are all North of Houston. Thunder Ranch over off 1314 and 242 (don't think they charge/gun, but I shoot IDPA there so not sure). Shooter's Station on 105 west of Conroe, but east of the lake (indoor). There is another one on 2854, but I don't know if they charge by gun or shooter. I was thinking of going there and checking it out soon.

That's gun emporium, this is from their website:
Range Fees: $8.00 per gun
No time limits.

They have a very nice skeet range by the way, been there done that a few times. Rifle and pistol range is pretty typical of an outside range.

Bayou is a membership club, not a public range, if that matters. They shoot Bullseye and metallic silhouette (used to, anyway) but no action pistol.

They also have a nice range in Juliff that is setup for everything from pistol to 1000 yard rifle.

It a great club with great people. For a $60 initiation fee plus $12 per month for the remaining months in the year for the first year and $140 a year thereafter for use of the facilities.

If I were within 45mins. of PSC and liked to shoot a bit I'd join. Just did and as far as I'm concerned the membership fee is more than fair and the people who run it are very capaable and approachable. Haven't had alot of time to get out there yet, but as a reloader who likes to dabble in quite a few pistols and hunting rifles, there's no question I made the right choice in where I'm going to shoot now.

Shiloh Indoor Shooting Range.
At Shiloh, we DO NOT penalize you for having a nice arsenal. There is NO PER GUN fee. Bring as many as you can carry!

Another +1 to Memorial from me. (http://memorialshootingcenter.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

Awesome guys, great atmosphere, and as someone else mentioned, great ammo prices. They recently stopped selling ammo to walk-ins who just wanted to buy ammo and leave. They now restrict selling ammo to people shooting there, but there is no limit to how much you can buy afaik.

Took my CHL Class there. The soft drinks and candy are really cheap too.

Theyre only like 4 blocks away from my office. Makes it nice and easy to get there after work and 'blow off some steam' :)

Thunder Range on 1314 is $10 per gun or per person, whichever is greater. But you can shoot all day if you want. At least that's what he told me this morning when I coughed up $30 for 3 guns.

I looked at both Memorial's and Top Gun's web sites today and they both charge $15.00 per hour with no extra charge for additional guns. I think Memorial has 10 lanes vs. Top Gun's 15. I never have figured out why places would charge for extra guns other than to rip people off. If you have a lane for an hour what difference does it make whether you put "x" amount of rounds down range from one gun or several?

BradGroux wrote:Memorial Shooting Center & Gun Range at I-10 West at Gessner is per lane. They also have the cheapest ammo around. The facility isn't as nice as others like Top Gun but it is still a fun and safe place to shoot, and the people are fantastic.

50 .40 rounds cost me $24 at Top Gun and only about $13 at Memorial while 50 9mm rounds cost me $21 at Top Gun and only about $11 at Memorial.
Times have changed in just two months. Went to Top Gun yesterday to shot my new PT145 PRO and they were completely out of .45 target ammo; the only had some SD rounds.

Went to Memorial for the first time and got the last box of target ammo they had in .45 (Monarch 50 RD). The box of Monarch was $26.99. Also got a box of 9MM target for my 92FS and it was $24.99. It's pretty bad when the ranges are out of ammo for you to shoot. It looked like both ranges had most ammo except for .45.

Found the people at Memorial to be overall more friendly than at Top Gun and acted like they appreciate your business and wanted your future business.
