Guys,
I sent in my application a week ago by certified mail. I have not received delivery confirmation yet, so I'm beginning to get concerned that it got lost on the way to DPS. I live in Austin, so it didn't have to travel far. I did an online app, so I have a PIN, but when I check the status it still says "PACKET MAILED TO APPLICANT."
Is it normal for delivery confirmations to take longer than a week, especially being in Austin?
Thanks.

Re: No Delivery Confirmation
You can track certified mail online. I would try that first.

Re: No Delivery Confirmation
I haven't used certified mail recently, but in the past, it could take quite a while to receive the delivery confirmation notice back via mail.
As boomerang mentioned, you should check online. The online system isn't updated in realtime, nor is it updated very often, but it'll usually have the delivery status updated within 24 hrs of actual delivery.

Re: No Delivery Confirmation
Don't be too concerned. I had the same thing happen (no online indication that my certified mail had been delivered.) I marked it up to using the "self-serve" kiosk at the post office (I had been warned not to use it!!).Steve_G wrote:Guys,

It took about 7 to 14 days after I'd mailed my app to finally see it pop up on the website.
Be patient... it'll show up.

Re: No Delivery Confirmation
I should also add....it seems to be taking about 6 weeks for the online status to change from "Packet Mailed to Applicant" to "Processing".Steve_G wrote: I did an online app, so I have a PIN, but when I check the status it still says "PACKET MAILED TO APPLICANT."
